Some verbs, known as state verbs, typically do not take continuous (or progressive) forms. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. Here are a few examples:

1. „Want”: The verb „want” is normally a state verb, but it can be used in continuous form when expressing a temporary or current desire.

– State verb: „I want a new car.” (expressing a general desire)
– Exception: „I am wanting a new car.” (expressing a current desire, possibly because of recent changes or circumstances)

2. „Taste”: The verb „taste” is a state verb, but it can be used in the continuous form when describing the sense or act of tasting at the moment.

– State verb: „The soup tastes delicious.” (describing a general taste)
– Exception: „She is tasting the soup right now.” (describing the act of tasting at the moment)

3. „Believe”: The verb „believe” is typically a state verb, but it can be used in the continuous form when expressing a temporary or evolving belief.

– State verb: „I believe in you” (expressing a general belief)
– Exception: „I am believing more in the power of positive thinking.” (expressing a growing or changing belief)

4. „See”: The verb „see” is generally a state verb, but it can be used in the continuous form when referring to an ongoing action of seeing.

– State verb: „I see the mountains from my window.” (describing a regular view)
– Exception: „I am seeing a doctor tomorrow.” (referring to an arranged meeting or ongoing action)

It’s important to note that these exceptions are based on specific contexts or time frames that allow for the continuous form. In most cases, state verbs do not take continuous forms, and their usage is primarily in the simple forms.
