Idiom of the day -put your best foot forward

An idiom is a phrase or expression that has a figurative meaning, different from its literal interpretation. Idioms are commonly used in language to convey a specific idea or sentiment, often rooted in cultural or historical context. They are unique to each language and can be quite colourful and creative. Understanding idioms requires knowledge of their intended meaning rather than interpreting the words literally. For example, the idiom „raining cats and dogs” does not mean that animals are falling from the sky but rather that it is raining heavily.

Don’t worry about the interview. Just put your best foot forward and if you don’t know the answer, don’t be afraid to tell them you don’t know. I’m sure you’ll do fine.
